Fire Five Unique Cartridges With One Versatile Handgun
Five Guns In One
Is it possible to own one handgun that will do it all? Well, that depends on what you want it to do. But for most handgun chores, a revolver in .327 Federal Magnum will do the trick. This cartridge was introduced in 2008 as a joint venture between Federal Premium Ammunition and Ruger.

The .327 Fed. Mag. was initially available in Ruger's dependable SP101 revolver, but now you can get it in their seven-shot GP100.

The idea was to offer a defensive handgun cartridge that could deliver terminal performance on par with the .357 Mag. but with less recoil. Federal accomplished this by producing a cartridge that fires a lighter bullet at a much higher pressure—45,000 psi, as compared to the .357's 35,000 psi.

As this video shows, in addition to all the power the .327 Fed. Mag. is capable of putting on target, it also offers extreme versatility with its ability to fire four other cartridges: .32 S&W, .32 Long, .32 ACP and .32 H&R Mag. This means instead of swapping handguns for different shooting endeavors, with a revolver chambered in .327 Fed. Mag., all you need to do is load a different cartridge. Brilliant! Simply brilliant!
