Setting up scouting cams on any piece of property is like setting up a lawn chair at the beach: You simply never know where you're going to have the best view of the scenery.
With all those trees, the odds of picking the right one for your camera are about as good as hooking up with the best-looking chick at the beach. But all hope is not lost.

Even where baiting is illegal, mineral licks are legit in most states. Create a tasty lick for a voyeuristic view of whitetails. Coax the ladies and the boys will follow.
Beach equivalent: Set up a free suntan lotion application station.
Nail Down Necessities
Field edges are obvious scouting cam locations, but such locales near water are pure dynamite for scoring pics, especially during early season when water is in high demand.
Beach equivalent: Set up a lawn chair near the poolside cabana for some visual appetizers.
In all situations, just don't get caught snooping around by the dominant buck ... or the gig's up in a hurry.
